An audience of poetry lovers listens attentively to Jean LeBlanc and Chuck Tripi at our old stomping grounds... the Gristmill Café.

The Writers' Roundtable is more of a concept than an organization, conceived and launched by Keith Ryans and sponsored by the Sussex County Arts and Heritage Council. The poetry events are also co-sponsored by the Betty June Silconas Poetry Center at Sussex County Community College.
The Writers' Roundtable is a big reason why the poetry community in the Sussex County, New Jersey, area is so vital. We are an informal group of writers who meet on the first Tuesday of each month to hear a featured reader, share our work at an open mic, and hone our craft.
First Tuesday readings are held at the Unitarian Fellowship Hall, 1 West Nelson Street, Newton, New Jersey, 07860. As the name says, we meet the first Tuesday of almost every month, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Everyone is welcome; a small donation is requested to help us pay for use of the hall.
These monthly gatherings offer featured readings by poets or prose writers followed by an open reading by our talented local writers. The poetry events are also co-sponsored by the Betty June Silconas Poetry Center at Sussex County Community College and the Paulinskill Poetry Project.
This is a wonderful opportunity for writers to meet and socialize. Readings are organized and run by Jim Berkheiser, with help from Chuck Tripi. If you would like further information, please contact Jim at jab619@embarqmail.com.
